Module 25: Hypochlorite Correspondence Class - 7 Water/Wastewater Contact Hours
​
Hypochlorites - sodium and calcium - are the most common form of disinfection used in water treatment. This workshop focuses on the properties, uses, and feed equipment needed when disinfecting with hypochlorites. Students will be introduced to the uses and properties of hypochlorites, chemical handling, regulatory requirements, and feed equipment. Various mathematics principles will be addressed throughout the workshop including changing % concentrations, dosage/feed rates, chlorine demand/dose, and CT calculations. The primary purpose of this workshop is to provide students with the necessary knowledge for the nongaseous hypochlorite (subclass 12) certification examination.
At the end of this training program students will be able to:
